1988 Mercedes Benz 560 SL Roadster 2nd owner, repossessed and purchased from bank late 1989. Classic, everything original except AM/FM/Tape is CD. Dark metallic charcoal exterior with black Mercedes soft top, hardtop is body color. Comes with top hoist and cover. No rust, car has always been garaged. Car is undercoated. Chrome Mercedes wheels and trim has been added. Interior is dark burgandy leather. Leather is like new. Burgandy sheepskins have covered front seats. Soft top is manual, not power. All systems in impeccable condition. Engine compartment is like new. Compression is still factory specific. Uses or drips no oil. Highway mileage is 20 mpg. Air conditioning blows cold, and is totally automatic. Vehicle has had NO collisions or body damage. Paint is original, and in excellent condition, as is weatherstripping. Vehicle sold new in late 1987. 17 years old with 144,678 miles atthis writing. Average mileage is 8,500 miles per year. Vehicle service book goes to 350,000 miles. the only inherent problem with the previous years models was with the timing chain. Mercedes solved this in 1988 models with a dual timing chain that would last for the life of the vehicle. Vehicle has 2 barely visible scratches at the bottom of the soft top / trunk. When hard top is on these scratches are covered. Chrome / stainless steel trim and composite trim is excellent. This vehicle is a daily driver and collectors dream.
